A complementary lecture by:

Dr. Anfuso received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and did his otolaryngology residency at West Virginia University. He then completed a fellowship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction. He specializes in the surgical management of Head & Neck tumors and reconstructive surgery.

Prior to joining Atos, Samantha was a Clinical Specialist in voice and head/neck cancer at Carolinas Healthcare System’s main campus in Charlotte, North Carolina. She has more than 20 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist with the last ten focused on the treatment of the head and neck cancer and laryngectomy populations.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  • Describe the indications for a total laryngectomy
  • Describe the anatomy of a patient who has undergone a total laryngectomy
  • List communication options for patients who have undergone total laryngectomies
